We Bring Decades of High Volume,
High Acuity Emergency Medicine Experience
from the Denver Metro Region
SLY MEDICAL, LLC was founded in June of 2019 by Physician Assistants Stephen Swan, Jeff Laird and Paul Young, thus the SLY acronym, incorporating the first letters of their last names into the title. Each partner of SLY has more than a decade of high volume, high acuity emergency medicine experience in the Denver Metro region.
We began with a vision to bring our extensive emergency medicine experience to rural health care settings with the belief that small town communities can experience similar patient outcomes as metropolitan centers when diagnosing and treating emergent conditions.
Our approach at each rural facility is to start by understanding the unique needs of the community. We work closely with local physicians and hospital staff to ensure we have a shared vision of patient care. Practice protocols are constantly reviewed and updated to reflect best current practices. Billing sheets are provided to each facility to help billing departments capture appropriate visit charges.
We recognize the needs of specialized care extend beyond the rural emergency department. Therefore, we build relationships with EMS, tertiary specialists and the network of receiving facilities where the rural patients will transfer if higher level of care is needed. We provide education for pre-hospital and hospital staff, provide medical direction and support for EMS and take part in review of prehospital calls. We participate in each Hospital’s Quality Assessment programs and have hired additional independent quality review from Board Certified Emergency Physicians in the Denver Metro area to review our care in the Emergency setting.
The field of medicine is constantly changing. Whether it is new practices and protocols or integrating tele-health, it is our goal to keep up with these changes and combine them with our experience to provide the best possible care for any community we serve. We find it life giving to bring our passion of the highest quality care to smaller hospitals with less facility resources. The relationship with the community is priceless.
